Boat Detailer Job Description 

Action Water Sports is looking to fill the position of Boat Detailer at our award-winning Fenton location. Our Fenton location services the Metro Detroit boating community and carries premier brands such as MasterCraft Boats and Crest Pontoons. **Starting pay based on experience** 

Responsibilities Include: 

• Perform final finish/detail on deliveries, in-stock and service boats, including cleaning windows, upholstery, canvas, isinglass, bilges, fiberglass and wood. 

• Use of high-speed buffers and polishers to properly detail the exterior surfaces 

• Removing dust, grease and oil from exterior surfaces of boats and trailers. 

• Knowledge of proper products for safe detailing of vessels including cleaners for various surfaces, degreasers, and waxes. 

• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the dealership to ensure a professional work environment conducive to selling 

• Assist with the setup of boat shows and other off-site promotional events. 

Technical and Physical Requirements: 

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred 

• Ability to work safely around the water 

• Ability to lift 50 pounds 

• Basic boat handling skills preferred 

• Knowledge of dock construction and repair preferred 

• Knowledge of basic power tools preferred

• Diagnostic skills: Understand mechanical and electronically controlled systems and be able to efficiently diagnose faults.
•  Mechanical skills: Correctly repair damage and malfunctions to manufacturer specifications
•  Comprehend written work descriptions and coordinate with our service lead team to resolve customer concerns
•  Communicate with customers in order to understand concerns and needs
• Training: Learn from manufacturer and in house training and apply the skills taught
• Identify boat system maintenance and repair needs for up-sell recommendations
• Most work is done in our modern indoor shop, but some times we are called on to provide dockside service
• Assist in other areas as needed
• Work with the parts department in order to identify correct parts and to verify correct billing
• Use shop equipment correctly for a safe and efficient work environment
• Additionally, responsibilities include assisting with inventory management and parts sales for the multiple brands we represent

Action Water Sports is looking to fill the position of Proshop Team Leader at our newest location opening this spring in Waterford, MI. Action Water Sports is an award winning dealer for MasterCraft, Barletta, and Tidewater boats. The store will also feature an extensive proshop with watersports brands like Ronix, Radar, Hyperlite, HO, Liquid Force, and more.  This is your chance to live out your water sports and boating passion every day!  

 The proshop team leader will be responsible for delivering excellent customer experiences at Action Water Sports, by maintaining a pristine retail environment and managing all aspects of watersports sales and inventory. The Proshop Team Leader will also assist our marketing team with local social media, marketing and events. 

Responsibilities:  

• Create & maintain an enthusiastic proshop environment, ready to give every customer a WOW experience. 
• Develop yourself as an authority on all products through online training, relationships with industry reps, and continued quest for new information 
• Develop and maintain a keen eye for the customer experience in the proshop including, cleanliness, layout, stocking inventory, and promotions
