Responsibilities Include:
- Perform final finish/detail on deliveries, in-stock and service boats, including cleaning windows, upholstery, canvas, isinglass, bilges, fiberglass and wood.
- Use of high-speed buffers and polishers to properly detail the exterior surfaces
- Removing dust, grease and oil from exterior surfaces of boats and trailers.
- Knowledge of proper products for safe detailing of vessels including cleaners for various surfaces, degreasers, and waxes.
- Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the dealership to ensure a professional work environment conducive to selling
- Assist with the setup of boat shows and other off-site promotional events.
Technical and Physical Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to work safely around the water
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Basic boat handling skills preferred
- Knowledge of dock construction and repair preferred

- Identify boat system maintenance and repair needs for up-sell recommendations
- Most work is done in our modern indoor shop, but some times we are called on to provide dockside service
- Assist in other areas as needed
- Work with the parts department in order to identify correct parts and to verify correct billing
- Use shop equipment correctly for a safe and efficient work environment
- Additionally, responsibilities include assisting with inventory management and parts sales for the multiple brands we represent

Key Duties

- Upsell items effectively by understanding customer needs and highlighting relevant products
- Handle cash register operations using POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately and efficiently

Qualifications

About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Entry-Level General Shop Hand to join our marine service team. This position is ideal for someone starting out in the marine or mechanical industry who is keen to learn on the job, gain hands-on experience, and work towards progressing into a Service Technician role.
No formal qualifications are required — just a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a positive attitude.
What You’ll Be Doing
Learning from experienced Service Technicians and assisting them with daily tasks
Providing general help around the workshop and service area

This will involve getting on and off the forklift many times through out the day hooking up boats to the forklift and backing boats into parking and service bays. This is primarily an outdoor position so you will be working in all types of weather.
Responsibilities include:
- Operate the forklift to transport boats
- Utilize an iPad to receive move requests
- Organization of the parking lot
- Interact with our customers and help them hook up and unhook their boat
- Unloading pallets of product from delivery vehicles
- Unloading new boats from manufactures using a chain hoist
